Description
These trays are intended for use by counsellors and therapists who do not use wet sand in their practice. They come with a lid. These ‘Dry-Only’ sand trays are built identically to our Baltic Birch Ply Sand Trays, with the single exception that they have not received the usual 3 coats of interior marine waterproofing that all of our other trays have received. This makes it possible for us to build and sell these sand trays for less than our waterproofed sand trays, as the marine waterproofing material that is used is quite costly. (note: the sand tray in the accompanying picture is shown sitting on a pair of ‘nesting’ rolling carts. Rolling carts and stands are sold separately.)
- Our “Dry-Only” sand trays are not recommended for use with wet sand.
- These trays do have the usual 3 coats of interior sky-blue finish.
Optional ‘discreet’ handles
This is a very effective yet discreet way to improve the transportability of your sand tray without affecting its function.
These attractive and very functional discreet handles can be added to any tray. These are integral handles, meaning there is no hardware such as metal, plastic, screws, or nails. This means that the handles will never fail, as hardware handles are apt to do.
They provide a far more secure grip on a loaded sand tray than it may appear. This is because the gripping-point is beveled upwards at a 14-degree angle (see diagram below). This pulls your fingers towards the center of the tray. When lifting a heavy tray there is no sensation that you are about to lose your grip.
Our discreet handles do not in any way affect or interfere with the tray interiors or any activity that takes place inside the sand tray.
At this time handles are requested for ~50% of the trays we build.
